"Keep up the great playing!"
-Joe Bonamassa

"Hurry to hear Matthew Curry, he is the real deal!"
-Bryan Lee

"Matthews’ vocals are also tight- he sells the lyrics with his great intonation and fire in his voice. On “Hear The Highway” Curry takes us on another fiery ride, where he tells us the story how he wants to hit the road and bring his blues to the world, and I believe him. This kid is committed to his craft and his roots in the blues sound deep and firm. The guitar here is driving and flaming hot. "

Blues Revue

Here's a part of a CD review from Brian Holland of BLUES REVUE mag!

"It's getting so it's nothing new to hear of another young guitar prodigy on the music scene. It's certainly a recurrent scenario we've grown accustomed to over the years. However, in reality, it's irrelevant whether the performer is a youngster or a mature man or woman, because the songs and the musicianship are what it's all about. But in Matthew Curry's case, it's truly remarkable to hear..."     To read the rest of the review (p. 63)    bluesrevue.com/blues-revue-digital-edition-nov-dec-store-2011/

Blogcritics MUSIC REVIEW

Matthew Curry isn’t old enough to buy a beer at the corner store, and he probably only has a learner’s permit for driving, but he’s obviously obsessed and infatuated with the blues! There’s no question that the 16-year-old electric lead guitarist, singer, and songwriter has some chops. At age eleven, a veteran blues musician gave him the nickname of Little Big Man. It’s great when veteran musicians take a young prodigy under their wings to show him the ropes and tricks of the trade.

This nine-song album is the successful result. Matthew Curry is obviously a fast learner, and the Bloomington, Illinois, high school student is wired with music. Curry fronts a stellar quartet called “The Fury” that also includes Randy Hoffman (guitar), Greg Neville (drums, backup vocals), and Jeff Paxton (bass, backup vocals). The Fury describes these guys well because they play with passion, fervor, and excitement. If you think this album is another home-produced family outing to promote a young knee-high-to-a-grasshopper musician developing his craft, then you’d better think again. Matthew Curry displays voice and sensibility well beyond his years.   (by Joe Ross)
